Terms of service
Last updated: Draft
These terms cover the use of Shifora by medical practices, their staff, and the patients who book through them.
What Shifora is
Shifora is software that a private medical practice uses to manage its records, appointments, consultations and fees. Shifora does not provide medical care and does not give medical advice. Clinical decisions, and the accuracy of anything recorded in a patient's record or written on a prescription, are the responsibility of the treating doctor.
Accounts
Practice accounts are created by Shifora on request; there is no self-registration. Sign-in is by Google account only. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with, and for who you invite into your practice.
Staff accounts have restricted access by role. You must not attempt to reach data outside the access your role allows, or another practice's data.
Plans and payment
Plans are set and changed by Shifora. There is no online checkout, no card on file and no automatic renewal charge. A trial period may be included when your practice is created; when it ends, the practice falls back to Starter entitlements rather than losing access to its data.
Prices are stated in Bangladeshi taka. Entitlements are enforced by the platform, and a feature outside your plan will not run.
Consultation fees and payouts
Where a practice collects consultation fees through the platform, the fee is set by the practice. Payments are collected through the payment provider and held against the practice's balance, which the practice may request to withdraw to a nominated account. Payouts are processed by Shifora on request.
Any dispute about a consultation fee is between the patient and the practice. Refunds are handled by arrangement and are not automated in the platform.
Video consultations
A consultation runs for fifteen minutes and ends automatically. Consultations are not recorded; a text transcript may be stored with the appointment. The quality of a consultation depends on the network and devices involved, which are outside our control.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Shifora to give or seek emergency medical care. In an emergency, seek care in person.
- Do not enter information about a person without a lawful basis to do so.
- Do not attempt to bypass the platform's access controls, probe other practices' data, or disrupt the service.
- Do not use the platform to send unsolicited messages to patients.
Availability
We aim to keep Shifora available and working, but the service is provided as it is, without a guaranteed uptime commitment. Parts of it depend on third-party providers for video, payments and message delivery.
Your data
A practice's clinical records remain the practice's. We process them to operate the platform, as described in our privacy policy. If you stop using Shifora, contact us about retrieving your records.
Ending an account
A practice may ask us to close its account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms, or where we are required to.
Changes
When these terms change materially, the updated date above changes and we will tell practices in advance where the change affects them.
